The Nature Trust of British Columbia is a leading non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting critical habitat for wildlife, fish, and plants in BC. Since 1971, we have secured over 180,000 acres of ecologically significant land.

The Nature Trust of British Columbia (Nature Trust) is looking for a Raiser’s Edge NXT Database Specialist. The successful candidate will use their Raiser’s Edge NXT experience to help guide the Nature Trust through the optimization phase of the NXT roll out.

This is a part- or full-time temporary contract position based in Vancouver, B.C. The Database Specialist will report directly to the Director of Finance, for a 4-6 month term, with a possibility of contract extension.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with completing set up and configuration of NXT
  • Provide guidance on functionality in NXT
  • Assist in optimizing use of NXT features
  • Ongoing meetings with Nature Trust staff to understand how Raiser’s Edge NXT is currently being used, and identify organizational needs
  • Lead set up of reports, workflows, forms, dashboards, etc.
  • Recommend procedures for regular data clean up, and for ensuring data completeness and accuracy
  • Assist with migration from Constant Contact to NXT for e-news
  • Provide coaching to Nature Trust staff
  • Create NXT process documentation specific to Nature Trust
  • Create constituent records as required
  • Enter gift records (~200+ gifts per month, including ~100 recurring gifts)
  • Prepare donation receipts
  • Generate reports for management as requested

 Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Ability to analyze organizational needs, provide options and recommendations for optimal NXT use, and lead implementation of database updates
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada

What we offer

  • The hourly rate for this role is $30-$35 per hour.
  • We are conveniently located close to Burrard, Granville, and Waterfront stations, and offer a hybrid work environment. Remote work is possible.
  • A flexible schedule is possible, with a preference for regular office hours at least 50% of time.
