Dr. Jasper Lament

Jasper brings two decades of biology, conservation and non-profit experience to his leadership position as CEO of The Nature Trust. He was born and raised in Vancouver, and is excited to help The Nature Trust continue its great tradition of delivering conservation results for British Columbia. He was most recently a Senior Environmental Coordinator at BC Hydro where he focused on fisheries and species at risk compliance. Prior to returning home to BC, he was a conservation program manager at Ducks Unlimited’s National Headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. He has also managed numerous wetlands restoration projects in California, spanning from the Napa Valley to San Diego Bay. Jasper is a strong believer in conservation partnerships, and was very engaged in multi-agency partnerships including the San Francisco Bay Joint Venture. He also served for over five years on the Staff of the North American Wetlands Conservation Council, which provides matching grants to habitat conservation partnerships across Canada, the United States and Mexico.

Jasper holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology and Geography from Queen’s University, and a Ph.D in Biology from the University of Miami in Florida.

Jasper joined The Nature Trust in 2012.
