The Nature Trust of BC would like to pay tribute to our friend, Chef Iain Rennie, for his kindness and generous support.

For the past three years, Iain was the host chef for our Okanagan signature event, Earth Wind Fire, at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort where he held the distinguished role of Executive Chef.

Each year, Iain welcomed fellow chefs from the Canadian Culinary Federation into his kitchen to prepare for the evening’s wonderful showcase of culinary talents in support of nature conservation. His leadership was a key contributor to the success of this event, and the positive impact it had for wildlife, plants and people in the Okanagan.

Every year, our staff looked forward to enjoying Iain’s culinary expertise. He created dishes that stimulated the senses with exquisite presentation and flavours.

Iain died on August 14th and will be greatly missed.

Remembering Iain

By Deb Kennedy, Development & Communications Manager for The Nature Trust of BC

I have many fond memories of stealing a moment for a quiet chat with Iain as these busy events buzzed around us. A few months ago, I congratulated him on Team Canada winning two gold medals and one silver at the IKA World Culinary Olympics. When I mentioned his accomplishment, Iain’s eyes shone and a beautiful smile broke across his face. He was so proud to represent Canada.
